Bassnectar is one of the longest standing and most respected artists in American electronic dance music, commonly referred to simply as the EDM scene. He is the original long hair behind the tables, having been in the game well before most of his contemporaries and amassing an epic fan base and having sold over 220k tickets to his solo shows alone in 2012. His art brazenly oversteps the bounds of contemporary EDM, pulling from a dynamic array of source material and attracting lovers of all genres, from dubstep to metal, punk rock, hip hop, and all forms of EDM (drum & bass, trip hop, etc) and beyond. His art is more than just an auditory experience; it serves to evoke all human senses with live shows that feature unparalleled light shows and awe-inspiring visual queues. Bassnectar intends to not only foster its own community of loyal Bass Heads, but also contribute to the global community at large through charity and social change by giving one dollar from every ticket sold to a non-profit, as part of his “Dollar Per Bass Head” Program.

Arkansas native producer/dj Aaron Spence AKA. Fractal Sky started his musical journey long ago as a young child growing up around his grandmother’s piano, Where he would spend long days learning songs by ear, which led him into playing more classical instruments such as the euphonium, trombone, trumpet and some saxophone. Growing up in the pop punk era in the late 90′s early 2000s he began playing in bands where he learned to play bass guitar, lead/rhythm guitar, and lead vocals.
Learning to record his bands and hitting late night parties and raves led him into the early 2000 breaks/trance era of music and music production. In 2003, Aaron began experimenting with early 2000 breakbeat/trance production. He slowly started to grasp the raw low ends of analog synthesizers and super tight breaks and cuts. In 2006 He released his first breakbeat track under the name “dj FL!P“.. Still determined and eager to learn, Aaron followed his heart to create the sound he’s most desired. By 2010 his sounds have evolved into a super funky , glitched out, groovy, tight, and an emotionally uplifting sound that he calls “Fractal Sky“.
Boulder residents Robotic Pirate Monkey have been in the electronic music game for a while now, and have steadily been on the rise over the last couple years. Known for their bass-heavy tracks and energy-filled live sets, this dynamic group of producers continues to expand and adapt their sound to the ever changing EDM scene.
This past summer, RPM joined forces with Taylor Gang rapper J.R.Donato (Chicago), and produced a 5 track EP dubbed “We Be Postin’“. This collab EP features some super fresh sounds and gives some insights on how versatile these guys are with their production. After the explosion of “trap”, I think this is definitely the direction to go in, and I’m looking forward to seeing what moves RPM makes here in the near future.
