Late Night Radio

Hustling to make his mark in Denver, Colorado’s electronic music melting pot, Late Night Radio is earning the respect of fans and peers alike through prolific production, innovative experimentation, and a dogged dedication to the craft. Alex Medellin has put in his time in the industry, coming up in Texas and California, but his ascension in the Colorado scene speaks to his ability to not only create a stunning array of original tracks, but bring them to life on stage, practicing what he preaches—guided by the mantra “emotion over energy.”

Medellin’s background in hip-hop is crucial to his development as a producer. Unlike some of his contemporaries who came up in the dance music scene, Late Night Radio keeps his cuts funky and inventive with an unshakable commitment to soulful grooves. Even when LNR breaks into high-energy, cabinet-rattling climaxes, the emotional depth remains. His wildly popular Vinyl Restoration series of old-school mixes has rooted his sound in deep, expressive sampling that keeps him firmly grounded in the lessons of the past, while reaching forward to craft his own signature sound.

Pretty Lights – A Color Map of the Sun: Deluxe Version

Derek Vincent Smith, of Pretty Lights Music, has finally dropped the bomb to his listeners across the world with his brand new album “A Color Map of the Sun“, which was released yesterday. The 13 track, down-tempo album is packed full of genius, and is a clear reflection of Mr. Smith’s state of mind. This album shows the maturity and progress of Pretty Lights Music as a label, and of Derek Vincent Smith as a person. Once you take a listen you should get a feel for what I’m talking about.

Like always, PLM hooks it up with free downloads for all of their music, so be sure and throw that on your iPod after you peep the album. Below are links to Pretty Lights‘ social media and the Pretty Lights Music website, so be sure and show the homie some love and let him know that you appreciate the hard work he’s been putting in! Enjoy!

Colorado wins the only election that matters…

Amendment 64 led with 52.7 percent voting yes and 47.3 percent voting no, with 1,507,746 votes or more than 50 percent of active voters counted, according to the Colorado Secretary of State’s office. The office said 25 counties had reported.

With Colorado leading the country in a new direction that will help turn this nation around, it’s disgusting that it’s taken this long for this to go through. Corrupt government and repulsive political agendas have made an impact on the nation for decades. The influential and pride driven generations of the past followed the exact route that was intended, and it is just now starting to wear off. One of the main points talked about during this election was the national debt. If the national debt is such a major concern for this country, this is the best course of action to start knocking some blocks off the totem pole. Props to all you Colorado people that are making a difference.

Bella Photography

I recently came across a photography company based out of Loveland, CO. When I was referred to Bella Photography, I figured that this was just going to be another basic photography company. I figured that the photos would more than likely be legit, and that would be that. As soon as I took the time to check out the company website, I realized that Bella Photography was definitely not your average photography company! This was literally the first time that I was interested by photography. You can feel the vibe and emotions that were going on at that particular time, which I found interesting.

Once I had to chance to talk with the owner and photographer of Bella Photography, Julia Ninefeldt, I then realized that she was just as interesting as her photos. The ambition and talent that Julia has is remarkable, and I knew right away that I had picked the right company to capture footage at this week’s Butch Clancy show. After the conversation, I found out that her photos are going to be featured on the HSN channel, and that a New York based company has recently contacted her in regards to publishing content for them and also handle their TripVlogger assignments. This goes to show that hard work and passion pays off.

Big ups to Bella Photography and all of us here at Crunchy Creationz are stoked to have the chance to work with such an amazing company!
