For all you West Coast residents looking for your next festival, look no further! Lightning in Bottle (LIB) Festival takes places at the Oak Canyon Ranch in Silverado, CA over Memorial weekend (May 24th-28th, 2012). Lightning in a Bottle is a celebration of Art, Music, Performance, Sustainability and Life. Lightning in a Bottle features world class music (both international as well as local up-and-coming talent), to its performance artists, to its live painting (known as Lightning in a Paintcan, an initiative of the Do ArT Foundation), to its workshops in sustainability and a host of other subjects, to an incredible array of speakers on such topics as women in leadership, to its family and child-friendly entertainment, LIB endeavors to be a well-rounded event where attendees from all walks of life can find a way to connect with others as well as themselves.
Being a huge fan of the Burning Man Festival I have always wanted to attend LIB. LIB has a lot of the same core values such as sustainability, the temple of consciousness (Similar to BM 2012 Temple of Transition), pack it in-pack it out motto, participant driven, and just an overall sense of Community Oneness. If you are like many festival goers then these values are always a part of your festival experience and I highly recommend making it out to Lightning in a Bottle.
LIB’s 2012 music lineup is out of control!!! The BASStastic king himself Bassnectar will be headlining along with Glitch legends The Glitch Mob, other performers include Shpongle, Tipper, EOTO, Big Gigantic, Gramatik, Star Slinger, and Opiuo to name a few! If your going to be anywhere remotely close then make sure you don’t miss this festival! You can purchase tickets online HERE if you don’t already have one! Oak Canyon Ranch is gorgeous and the people who attend LIB are amazing, so be ready for one of the best West Coast festivals of the year!
